The 18 Manzanas  

El Ayudante, Inc. purchased 18 manzanas (31 acres) near Leon in October 2001. The property is located adjacent Reparto Ruben Dario and has a picturesque view of the volcanoes Telica and San Cristobal. A complex of buildings has been constructed on the property including a child protection center, medical clinic and mission team housing. The groundbreaking ceremony for the complex was held on November 1, 2001.

Mission Team Housing

In Leon, mission team housing has been constructed to provide a safe and comfortable base of operations for mission teams serving in the Department of Leon. The facility will accommodate two mission teams simultaneously with over 60 short-term missionaries in four dormitories. Each dormitory has a bathroom with individual showers and is served by a central kitchen, dining area, laundry room, pantry, and offices. A veranda and rancho have been constructed and are favorite places to relax and share a testimony.

A beautiful home has been leased in the city of Matagalpa to house teams. It will accommodate 32 team members. Here is a breakdown of the bedrooms:

  • Bedroom 1 with bath has 4 bunk beds
  • Bedroom 2 with bath has 2 bunk beds
  • Bedroom 3 with bath has 2 bunk beds
  • Bedroom 4 with bath has 4 bunk beds
  • Bedroom 5 and 6 share a bathroom where the bathroom is right outside the bedroom doors. Each or these bedrooms have 2 bunk beds.

El Ayudante hosted its first mission team on September 23, 2002. Since that date, over 4,500 short-term missionaries from across the US have come to Nicaragua to partner with El Ayudante!

Additional dorms were completed in June 2005 allowing for flexibility
in scheduling mission teams. A ranchero (right) will be completed in
December 2006 to serve as a meeting area for the new addition.

Child Protection Center

A child protection center has been constructed and is home to at-risk children who are being prepared for leadership in Nicaragua and to be citizens of a higher Kingdom

Medical Clinic

El Ayudante has constructed a medical clinic on the 18 manzanas. (CLICK HERE FOR FLOOR PLANS) Nicaragua’s Ministry of Health and El Ayudante officials plan to utilize the clinic as a clinic of referral for 11 public clinics serving 75,000 in Leon. Future Construction

The highest priority is completion of the wall on the eastern property line of the 31 acres.
